Udorn RTAFB - New!

Collecting history of Udorn RTAFB
Ron Sell and Dave Dwiggins are in the collection stage of writing UDORN, a book about history of Udorn Royal Thai Air Force Base. Never did we think those days would bring some of the grandest memories of our lifetime, but it happened.
During the past 30 years Dave Dwiggins has written eight books, all Indiana history and currently resides in San Pablo City, Philippines. Ron  was a successful home designer in California and is now enjoying the good life at his home in Udon Thani, Thailand.
We are teaming up again after all these years, busting our tails to present the best possible account of UDORN and we need your help.

Officers, NCO's and airmen enjoyed swapping war stories whether at base clubs, housing quarters or downtown at one of the pubs. We are inviting you to be a part of the new book UDORN. One segment of UDORN will feature stories told by you, the men that fought the Vietnam War from Thailand.

Whether flying over North Vietnam pursuing MIGS, crew chiefs preparing planes for flights, R & R at Bangkok or Pattaya, a night trip to Nong Khai or enjoying an exciting adventure downtown at one of the pubs. This is your chance to share with others your personal story and be a part of our new UDORN.

We are searching for photos of aircraft, barracks and buildings on base. Downtown we are searching for pics of the streets, Thai boxing arena, the pubs regardless of size or time period they existed. There was a fire downtown near the second circle if we remember correctly and one on the strip at the front gate entrance. Cabs, baht trucks and samlors are great for the memories.

We welcome photographs in jpeg, tiff, pict, BMP and PDF formats.  Please send larger scans instead of small pics. We suggest 500 x 375 mega pixels or larger, horizontal or vertical framing. Large scans are perfect for resizing. Contact us today.
