Raymond Davis Writings
Contact David Dwiggins

Raymond Davis loved Orestes, Indiana and spent much of his adult life writing and spotlighting the Davis family and the town of Orestes. Raymond wrote about simple life in the village and about everyday happenings. He also loved the Native American Indians and wrote tales of Cheif Pipe and his tribe south of Orestes. Without his writings much of Orestes history would have been lost.

Raymond also led the charge along with Madison County Historian Howard Eldon and the Madison County Historical Society to bring attention to the special white oak tree in the community. Their efforts led to statewide recognition of the tree and an annual Oak Tree Festival.

This page will offer links to some of his writings.
